Simplify Your Final Decision – Compare Vendor Pricing “Apples-to-Apples”
The final step in the EHR Selection Toolkit Series is the Vendor Cost Comparison; a single worksheet that enables practices to compare different pricing models from up to three vendors in similar pricing terms. Pricing is built out over a 5-year period, so differences in initial year and subsequent maintenance year costs can be more easily compared in an “apples-to-apples” fashion.
For example, ASP (Internet-based) monthly subscription fees vs. traditional on-site server licensing models can be evaluated more readily. Amortization schedules are also provided. Cost model reviews all direct/indirect costs association with the purchase and implementation, including: software, hardware, implementation (both practice and vendor-side responsibilities), training, IT network support, software and device integration, and maintenance fees.
